Our Leather
We source our leather from family-run tanneries in Kanpur and Chennai, India. Theses cities are known globally for high quality leathers. We use full-grain hides, vegetable tanned or chrome-tanned, first selection only. Our selection criteria ensures only the finest materials are used.
Calf, cow, buffalo, lamb and goat leather.
Dyed through. Naturally finished.
Tanned, cut, and crafted entirely in our manufacturing facility.

In the era of social media and trends, visual fashion dominates products. Low-cost and mass-produced machine-made craftsmanship has gradually replaced handicrafts. We at Belfast have always insisted on a very "old-fashioned" thing. We believe thorugh our traditional crafts we can give a unique value and personality to the products that are unmatched.
Our commitment is to continue creating wonderful artisanal products that has an unmistakable human touch. It is the hallmark of our work. It permeates our design and our manufacturing. It helps us in distinguishing each product like a true original, a unique piece!

Design
We design not to follow trends, but to outlast them. We focus on longevity. We evolve our collection constantly. We are always guided by the same principles: clarity, proportion, restraint. Each product is built to live long, age well, and stay pertinent without demanding attention.
What differentiate us?
Hand Cutting: We select the best areas for crafting after carefully inspecting each hide. Our artisans use hand tools to cut precise patterns, ensuring minimal waste. Each pattern makes a perfect fit for the final design. This enable us to maintain control over quality and highlight the natural characteristic of the leather.
Edges: Leather edges are an important part of a product aesthetics. We carefully prepare them through beveling and burnishing. Beveling involves rounding the edges for a smooth, finished look, while burnishing involves polishing the edges with natural wax and friction to create a glossy, durable finish. For Chrome tanned leather, we use premium quality edge paints for desired (gloss or matte) finishes.
Hand stitching: We majorly use traditional saddle stitching, a hallmark of high-quality leather goods. Each stitch is made by hand using strong, waxed thread (Polyster or Linen), ensuring a level of durability that machine stitching cannot match. If one side of the thread breaks, the other remains intact, maintaining the product’s integrity for years.
Finishing: Once the final product has been assembled, every product undergoes meticulous finishing. We make sure you get the best product. This includes polishing, inspecting, and ensuring that all edges and seams are flawless. We also treat the leather with natural oils to enhance its luster and longevity.
Sustainability: We prioritize eco-friendly practices at every stage. Our vegetable-tanned leather is biodegradable, and our production process minimizes waste. Scrap leather is repurposed for smaller accessories, further reducing environmental impact.
Customer Involvement: Our doors are open to show how we work. We believe in transparency and invite potential customers / clients to our workplace and learn more about our process.
